A job.
I am gainfully employed at Microsoft, at the Xbox Operations Center, through Volt (a contractor/vendor employment service). I start tomorrow (actually this morning) at 9 AM, and my future schedule is unclear. The job entails mainly level-2 technical work and support requests, which is easy enough, if not a bit mindless at times. The pay’s good, the benefits suck, and the commute will be awful if I’m driving over the 520 bridge, but Microsoft has their own personal Connector Bus services with cell links and WiFi on the vehicles, so as soon as I’m settled, I’ll be taking that.
It’s a bit conflicting considering my side ventures are going so well as of late, but I’m trying not to be blinded by short-term results. We’ll see how things are after a few weeks and decide if the position is right for me.
