Basic Economics

I know one of you guys loves Thomas Sowell, but I can't remember who. It's either
thomasblair or
colinmarshall, or quite possibly both.
Anyway, I've been buying a lot of books lately to occupy my time at night before bed, and I picked up a copy of Basic Economics. I really enjoy it - it explains all the “difficult” concepts of economics extremely well to the layperson. I especially like that Sowell starts off with pricing theory and explains away the concepts of greed while simultaneously bashing central market planning. By tying all of those concepts together, he makes it clear that pricing is almost always a symbiotic relationship between consumers and producers and shows what a dismal failure socialism really is.
A+, would read again (and I'm actually not through with it).
